Actually recieved a reply from Plaza Associates today. Regarding the DV letter sent a while back.
They state, in part:

This is in response to your recent communication.
We have noted this file and will cease further collection activity.

Accordingly, we are closing our file in this matter and will return this account to creditor mentioned.

Any questions regarding credit report should be addressed to the creditor, listed above, as we DO NOT? report to the credit bureaus in any form or fashion.

Persoanlly, I'm kinda surprised they replied.

Good for you! You can make arrangements with the original company without dealing with the CA.

I guess, the CA had nothing much about your account and reply back to the debt validation letter. I take it as a good point and deal directly with the company.

Have you offered a payment proposal to the original company? Notify them about your proposal and wait for their response. Meanwhile, check your credit report and see if this CA has entered anything in your file.

Written records with different companies will make your dispute stronger with the credit bureau. You can request the bureau to investigate the account for you. Show them proof that your communication with different companies gave no results.

Having the proof of your dispute, the credit bureau must get the accurate details from the information provider or remove this item from your file.
