Hello. I am in a Payday Loan hell. I currently have 12 payday loans, roughly totaling somewhere around $5000, and serious need to pay them off some kind of way. I just joined this site and I've noticed everyone speaking highly of a site called
"T&C". I would love to take advantage of this of there services and would really aprreciate any information someone could give.

smuvv2002--I second the welcome. Make sure you sign in each time you come to the forums so we know who you are. I don't know how the counseling thing works as far as a response seeing this is holiday weekend. If you have any questions before you get contacted just post them here and someone will attempt to find an answer. Rest assured you have come to the right place.

Don't feel bad, my friend! As a result of having to take FMLA leave time to care for an ill family member, I found myself with two options--take out payday loans or attempt to care for someone on oxygen with no power.

Unfortunately, I became mixed up with about 5 of these companies. The problems began when I got mixed up with this Cash Transfer Center. They loaned me $1100 initially which was supposed to be repaid on my next payday; however, they took the payment 4 days later and when I questioned them, they immediately offered to loan me more money. Since they had drained my account, I had to say "yes", or at least I thought I did.

Now, they have taken a total of $900 on this and have attempted to debit my bank account so many times that my credit union of 16 years has closed the account. Their next step has been an attempt to garnish my wages. I was under the impression that in my state, South Carolina, wage garnishment can only be done for taxes. Luckily, I'm not in trouble with them.

My employer is in New York but listed as a Delaware corporation. These people are trying to collect the entire amount as if I have paid them nothing. What can be done on my end? I don't remember agreeing to have them contact my employer, much less garnish my already small paycheck. Help!

Wage garnishment is a legal method and they have to win a judgment against you first of all. Most lenders get a voluntary wage assignment contract signed with the loan agreement. I think they are trying to use this method to collect money from you.

You can cancel this contract if you wish. Inform your employer about this incidence. Send your creditor a letter revoking the wage assignment contract. And try to work out an affordable repayment plan.

I am reading all these storis about pay day advances and I am getting worried. I currently have a 600 payday loan (not online) that I first took out in March and have re-borrowed three times since then. The fees were not too much for borrowing and I had to pay off some of my credit card debt so I did it not realizing that I was actually losing more than I would have had I just paid off what I had to my cc's. I admit my situation is not too deterimental right now and I will pray that your situation works out smuvv :) I appreciate this site/community so much! I have decided I am going to pay off my payday loan 300 at a time so it's paid off and not worry about it anymore.

I had once hopped on the payday loan band wagon in December 2004. I was short and had to make my car loan. I ended up having 8 pay day loans with various companies. At one time I wasn't sure how I was going to afford to buy gas to drive to work. After I hit that part of my life (Which, I would like to refer to as rock bottom) I decided to get out of it all. I have a very expensive car loan ($550 per month) as well as I owe $%k in credt card debt, on top of the gas, rent, etc. I had decided that I was the one who got myself into this mess, I would be the one who got out of this mess. I took on a second job (making my total hours of work per week right around 70 hours)and took a year off from school due to the fact that I did not have time or money to attend college. It's been a year and a half later and I can proudly say that I owe $100 to one Pday day company and I have never once defaulted on a loan. I enrolled in a debt consolidatin company and I have reared myself to paying off all of my debt. I can't say that I didn't suffer. There were times where I had only 5 hours of sleep 5 night per week and the stress of the situation put me on edge more times that I would like to admit. My credit score went down 250 points (due to consolidating my credit cards.) I did learn an awfully harsh lesson about money and lending. However, when I get out of this, I can at least hold my head up high and say that I did it all by myself. There are options. I took the harder option, but after working very hard for a year and a half, I'm able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's a great feeling when you can get a $15 manicure and know that you have money left in your bank account to pay the bills and buy groceries. Myt best advice is to do what you need to do, any means necessary. At least in the end my resume will say that I am a very hard working person! Good luck!

Hi Marisa

Thanks for the heads up. You will definitely take care of the previous accounts and improve your credit file. It's better to have those accounts paid off rather than defaulting on it. The lenders who will view your file in the future will appreciate you for taking the responsibility. Try to save money from your daily expenses so that you have more savings at the end of the month. You can use this amount towards the consolidation payments so that you come out being debt free within the earliest time.

Nobody knows who Sarah Miller is, this is a debt forum for people seeking advice and support for debt related issues. If this person is with a company you need to provide that company's name so somebody may be able to give you the contact info. for the company. Nobody here is going to contact Sarah Miller for you.
