Does anyone have any information on Northway Credit? I got a payday loan from another company, but this is the company that appears on my bank statement. I got a phone number from my bank and tried to contact them for about a week, because I knew that my payment would not clear, but couldn't reach the original creditor. What should I do?

Cajun is right. Noone held a gun to anyone's head to borrow the money and yes, we are totally obligated to payback what we borrowed. What we are not obligated to do is pay outrageous interest rates and fees.
And when you say that since a company is located out of the USA and it's not obligated to follow the laws of a state it's doing business in, I ask you whether other international companies doing business in the USA, (Toyota, Nestle for starters) are required to follow state law where they are operating. And you know what, that would be a huge yes!
So this argument doesn't hold any water here.

KS, you must be kidding when you compare Toyota, Nestle and other international companies in reference to "International" pay companies....first of all, Toyota and those "BIG" companies are established brands and corporations. Payday companies come and go! Then you say "not obligated" to pay "outrageous" interest and fee's then why NOT look into that before taking the loan to begin with? I find you all don't have a clue as to what it is you compare and talk about here. Get you facts straight before making your comparisons, it just makes you look that less wiser.

I don't think that being an "established" coorporation makes you more obligated to follow laws. They are businesses just like pdls who are also required to follow the laws. Just because pdl companies "come and go" doesn't make them any less obligated to follow the laws. That is just ridiculous.

Again with the useless lawless drivel! The ladies have spoken and I have already said it once. If you decide to do business in our country, you are obligated to following the licensing and regulatory procedures of each state you lend in. You cry and moan about not getting paid and consumers not reading or following your contract. Sorry,if contract is not based on law,it is not a valid contract in any court system.

I've been dealing with these people for a week now, after they racked up my bank account with charges. My grandmother died, I didn't work for 3 weeks, and they refused to negotiate with me. Today, finally, I got them to make a settlement with me, amazing. It was a good settlement, I will pay in a week, and they will stop debiting my bank account. They must be getting a lot of pressure from someone now, in order to settle for less than I borrowed, right? I told them I could make payments on the total amount, was willing too, but, couldn't make one lump sum payment, so they asked if I would settle for paying 1/3 of the total, why would they do that? I was more than willing to pay the full amount, just not all at once. Any ideas?

I applied to Northway Credit for a $5000.00 loan and they seemed pretty interested in lending it to me. I am also hopelessly in debt with these PDL and I can't see myself getting better I can't pay any of my bills this month I don't know what I am going to do.

Blocking your account may not be enough. You may need to close and open a new account. If you had a payday loan with this company, you will need to send them a voluntary wage assignment revokation letter immediately and give a copy to your payroll department. Otherwise this is one company that WILL attempt to garnish your entire paycheck.

Also, if you did not authorize this debit, did you dispute it with your bank? If not, you should do this.

I think I am in trouble, I got another pdl on July 5. I saw that Northway credit deposited 300 in my account on that date and yesterday Northway Debit took 2 payments of 190.50 each. Something doesn't seam right. Has anyone had any experience with double withdraws and can give me some advice? Thanks

All of you complaining, arguing, saying you will close you bank accounts...oh please...you asked for a loan...you agreed to the terms...you have a voice and you can ask questions before signing for the loan...when you are in NEED these payday companies provide you with funds...YET when it's time to pay AS AND WHEN YOU AGREED TO!!! you turn around and not keep your end of the deal?? What if they said NO when you needed the funds to begin with? Why not complain when you were using the money they borrowed you? WHY NOT PUT A STOP TO THE CREDIT!!!! yeah exactly! NONE of you complain about getting the money ONLY about paying it...YOU want payment arrangements BUT when the loan was given to you it was ALL AT ONE not 100 her and 200 there.....THE EXACT AMOUNT YOU ASKED FOR WAS GIVEN....THEREFORE PAY THE FULL AMOUNT REQUIRED ALL AT ONE!

I have had the same problems with these so called companies. They even contacted my family. In reply to the posting which states, "stop whining you took out the loan" WRONG, I did not. All of a sudden there were 2 payment of $127.00 on the same day which cost me many NSF charges. My bank did do a reverse for the NSF charges and blocked this company. Soon after that I begain to be harrassed. These folks are ruthless...Wanted a money gram right away. Don't do it. I have sent this imformation to my AG in Ky. I told one person that called that they are not authroized to do business in the US and I haven't heard from them since. STAN YOU GROUND....DON'T LET THEM SCARE YOU!!!

Gloria Stovall,

No, NO and NO!!!! Do not borrow a dime from any payday loan people. They are all sharks. You WILL BE WORSE OFF IN THE END AND MIGHT HAVE TO FILE BANKRUPCY IN THE END LIKE SO MANY DID HERE. STAY AWAY FROM ANY AND ALL PAYDAY LOANS. WHAT EVER YOU NEED THE MONEY FOR NOW WILL NOT BE AS BAD AS WHEN YOU BORROW THAT MONEY AND CANT PAY IT BACK. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 after many atempts by these companies to get money from me, they are now calling from las vegas as dollar flash! These people are very, very stuborn and will drive you crazy. I have closed my account and unemployed so they have no way to take money from me. I am currently doing everything with money orders so they can't take money from my account. This is not the way i want to pay bills and is a real pain but something i have to do for now. I have gone through all my bank statements and there isn't any credit from dollar flash....another name they are going under. I have sent this information to my ag in ky.
Whatever you do...don't borrow from these companies. They will bankrupt you!

you guys don't get stressed get smart go to your bank close your account open a new one at the same bank. See how you can get a privacy question to access your new account along with your account number and social security number. Then change your home number and tell your employer what is going on, then tell that company if you don't quit calling you are gonna have to get law enforcment involved and tell them that harassment does not fly in the united states you scammers!

I had a loan for 300, with mte financial, in feb. 2007 They gave my info. to northway credit/debit, and nevis marketing, and webpayday. They slipped in 300 dollar loans, with no permission from me, and as I thought I was paying off one loan, they hooked me into 3 more. They were taking 90-110$, every 2 weeks for about ayear, as I finally found out through my bank statements.Over 3800$, for a 300$ loan! They are all scammers, and I will get them through consumer protection/att. General...f---ing scumasses !

I thought I was dealing with CTC. Someone had gotten my banking information and wrote themselve a 1100 check. We had to close my account which is in another state. And until I go down there I don't have another account yet. I have police reports and everything, they don'tcare. they want it all now. I can'tpay it all. My creditcards had to be closed and get new ones. I was told they can't garnish my wages until they take me to court. Thats what my payroll Dept said. No court paper no money. What bothers me is they call my work and tell anyone who answers the phone whats going on? How can I stop that?

I recently went through something very similar, my dad passed away and I put a stop payment on the loan because I would no sooner take out the loan that it would take them8 days to reloan and by the time I was reloaning again, I only had the loan in hand for a week. So I was being double charged for money I didn't even have in hand. Now, they are calling me at work, constantly harrassing me, when asked for an address to send payments they refused to give me one, stating I could only send the full amount via Money Gram or they will garnishee my wages. I have printed out that form to revoke the wages and plan to send that to the Winnipeg address tomorrow, but find myself disgusted and at a loss with this god awful company who won't even listen to reason.
