I have several payday loans that I must pay back. I have already committed to paying two which is $150 for three months (not each). One other, Interim Cash Limited agreed on $100 for 4 consecutive paydays. Take in mind that I only owe them $279. I haven't reach any agreements on the rest yet.

Here is where I need advice. I am on several medications for major depression and obsessive compulsive disorder. I know this is a dumb question but I will ask it anyway. If I only have enough money for one of the two which should I pay: payday loans or my medication. I believe that I will have enough money to pay the $150 but if I try to pay the other I might just run out of money. Yet I am scared of what Interim Cash LImited might do if I don't pay them. I do need my medicine or might end up in the hospital.

Please help!

Of course you have to pay for your medication first!! Your health is number one, no matter what. Owing people some money is not the worst thing in the world. How can you continue to deal with them if you're sick?
In my experience, Interim cash was decent to deal with. You only owe them $279..They can't take you to jail, and I seriously doubt they'll try to garnish your wages. Contact them and be honest..Tell them what you're up against. You'll never know if you don't try. Have you considered a debt consolidation program? Maybe that could work for you as well.
Please take care of yourself..You only get one life, one body. You are the most important..Things WILL work out, I promise. My thoughts are with you.
P.s....Are you able to get any state assistance to help with your meds?

have you considered contacting the pharmaceuticals company? Some offer programs which help people that need their medications get them if they cant afford them. Also, have you talked to your doctor? Some doctors, if you tell them you cant afford the meds will give you the samples that the pharmaceutical companies give them to hand out. It's a bit of a stop gap solution, but its a temporary problem till you get your PDL's squared away. What drug are you taking? I'll see if I can find something for you. If you would rather PM it to me that is ok too.

Fortunately I do have insurance but even with insurance the copays on the meds are pretty high when you have four major drugs that you must take. I am just scared of what Interim Cash Limited will do. I spoke with them on Friday and after threatening to report them to the BBB, FBI and whoever else I could think of, they backed down a bit and was offered to take $100 for 4 consecutive paydays. If I wasn't able to pay that $100 this month I am afraid of what they might do. They have called me at home and at work. When they have called me at work I told them I could not talk to them but they continued anyway. If I hung up the phone they would just call back. Fortunatly I have a supervisor that is understanding.

Your health comes first because when you are sick, how can you make money to pay those debts? Take care of yourself so you can be in a better place to deal with collectors.

Have you considered contacting one of the debt consolidation companies that deals with payday loans? Maybe they will be better suited to handle those debts and work out a more affordable payment plan that enables you to have some money freed up for medications.

Keep in mind, they can NOT take you to jail. Defaulting on a payday loan is NOT a criminal matter. So do not be scared.

They can't charge you with wire and check fraud. They can't call and tell just anybody your business. The most they are allowed to do, is call your references and give them a number for you to contact. That is it. Send them what you can afford. These online lenders think they are above the state laws and they are not.

Need help in Texas

Try to work out some arrangements with Nationwide Cash if that solves the problem. Keep sending partial payments and ensure that you have a proof of it. The company might stop calling your place of work after they get regular payments from you. Besides, you don't need to deal with the CA if the lender is accepting payment from you directly. Send a cease and desist letter mentioning to have written communication only. The law office will violate the FDCPA if they try to contact you over the phone after receiving your letter.
