Hello everyone, this is my first time here. I stumbled onto this forum when I was researching a loan company called Personal Financial Services, which I am now going to stay away from. My story is probaly going to be familiar to many but I am pretty stressed out and dreading everyday. Currently I am not working and have no savings. I am behind $1,200 on my rent, have one payday loan for $565.00 which is due on 6/15/06 and that I have no idea how I am going to pay. I have outstanding cell and land line phone bills and utility bills. I have about 17 days worth of my anti-anxiety meds left and no health insurance. I have HORRIBLE credit and have been deep surfing the net for the past three days trying to find a bad credit loan but so far no one will touch me. I must have filled out 15 applications. I had been working as a signature gatherer but that petition is over now and I currently have no job prospects in site. I am trying to stay positive and keep things in perspective but I am quickly feeling out of control. I would welcome ANY advice on how to deal with my landlord and the payday loan company, now and in the future. Those are my two primary concerns right now. If anyone knows of any legit lenders who would possibly extend me a loan I would much appreciate the info. I have been thinking about debt consolidation but not sure how it works. Thank you for listening every one.

Dear Worried...
First, I would definately call your landlord and explain your situation and see if he'll work with a late payment. You'll have to let him know, you certainly don't want to be without a home. Is there any friends or family you can hit up for a loan?
By all means! DO NOT get another payday loan! It will only land you in more hot water! Just read what these people on here have done, myself included, and the trouble they've gotten into with them!
Call your payday lender and tell him he can just wait on that! Do they have access to your bank account? If so, close it immediately or they will continue to debit your account and add up more fees for nsf's.
Is there any kind of job you can do? Waiting tables, temp job, walking dogs, cleaning houses, McDonalds?
How about unemployment benefits? Are you eligible?

I would definately steer away from any kind of loans out there...online or otherwise from bad credit places or lenders..that will only get you in trouble.

Register with this site and fill out the form so someone can call you to help with your situation on debt consolidations. These people on here are extremely nice and helpful and believe me, there's nothing they haven't heard already!
But please start with your landlord...he may be more understanding than you think.
Let us know how it goes!

I agree with Jessi. I lost a job back in '02 and signed on with a temp agency. I started work a few days later, got paid a few days after that...it wasn't much, but it helped. Then, more permanent things open up, or more long-term assingments.

As for the Payday loan thing...DO NOT get another one!! I know it seems like such a great solution now, but please do not get yourself in deeper. I should know. I had 14 when I found this forum!! I was paying over $800 each paycheck just to these places...I seriously don't know how I lived like that...looking back on it now.

Also...

I would also not suggest any type of "bad credit" loans. These types of places are usually out to get people like us, who are desperate, and are usually scams. Please don't let yourself get in any deeper. I was scammed back in Sept. 05 and am still paying for it. I was out $500, that a scam loan company took from me! Please register with this site, and we will all help you the best we can.

You can opt for a consolidation program and combine all your debts into one monthly payment. The interest rates with your creditors will be negotiated for a lower amount and most of the financial charges and late fees can also be wiped off. You pay one check to the consolidation company and they will send it to all your creditors. Monthly statements will be sent showing how your money was applied along with the remaining balance. Have a look at the benefits offered in this program. If you have further queries, feel free to discuss with your consultant before signing up for the program. Someone will call you back after registering here.

I believe consolidation might be a good option for you also. Whether you choose that or not I would definitely close the checking account or you won't get anywhere with the PDL taking out their fee. Have you spoken to the utility companies? I would call them and work out payment arrangements regarding your past due bills.

Obviously, employment is a real concern for you, but like Jessi advised sign up with a temp agency. They usually offer a big variety of skilled and unskilled labor positions. And sign up with more than one agency to better your chances. If you call the doctor who prescribed your anti-anxiety meds he/she might be able to give you samples of the same drug until you can pay for a prescription. Good Luck.

I know here in Ohio there are Job and Family Services offices in each county to go to if you're desperate for basic necessities. They might help with your food, rent and utilities until you get another job and maybe help you find a job. Just suggesting this because you sound pretty desperate. Good luck.

If you have no money coming in and no money at all to speak of, Consolidation is not going to work for you since in most cases when you join programs like this the payments are about the same and sometimes higher...now with the creditor raising minimum balances due from 2 percent to 4 percent, yes, you can save money with a debt consolidation program! But if you have no money to speak of...this is NOT going to help you.

If you have real estate you may try to cash out and get 'some' money..............but if you don't own anything and are renting it would be in your best interest to contact a lawyer and find out about bankruptcy! Especially if you don't care about your credit. Most people who owe lots of money, have no money, lost a job reach the point where they don't care...I myself tried working with a debt settlement company only to be let down miserably and AM looking at bankruptcy simply because I can't take the pressure any longer.

I would speak to a good bankruptcy lawyer.......in most cases they give free consultations.

hope this helps!
