can any one tell me the next step in getting this matter resolved. i had a car loan thur a company called fsb finace. fell behind in payments feb 06 spoke to a rep who told me that if i paid 809.00 that would bring my account current. 2 weeks later i get a bill in the mail telling me i owe 1200.00 past due. call again and they state that it was for a attorney to draw up papers and a field rep to repo the car and be severed these papers will the fun thing is the car was her they didn't take and no one came to the door with papers. so i was dispuent that amount they would call home leave a message to call and an ext and when you call back no one ever answer finally i got ahold of there rude repo dep after waking up to find my car was gone in inlate april and was asking why i was being charge these past dues fees when the rep in feb told me the account was zero he states i was all ready told that and this coverstanion is due and hung up would not even discusse how to get my car back.

I'm sorry about your car..I can't even imagine how awful that would be. I've personally known 2 people who had their cars repod, and both situations were different. One of them only had to pay the past due to get it back (along with impound fees) and the other had to pay off the entire amount of the loan..which he was not able to do. He did find out later, though, that if he had filed bankruptcy, he would've probably been able to get his car back.
Call an attorney..They'll talk to you for free over the phone and could tell you what to do with this. Good luck.

Talk to a lawyer because he will be able to guide you in the right direction in this complex situation.

Know your legal rights, it is clearly mentioned in your security agreement. This is the same agreement you signed while taking the car loan. The lien holder will give this document to the DMV to place a lien on your car.

I was on the verge of getting my car repod. Never got the letter but was getting damn close. Had the car nearly 5 years. 5 year loan on the car. I owed about 1500 left on it. I was about 60 days past due on the payment. Lucky I was able to call my dad and ask to borrow the money for a bit and would pay him back quickly. Glad he had the cash. I was able to pay off the car loan and pay him back shortly after.
