I few months ago, I was contacted by a rep from Xpress Cash demanding payment for a loan of $100 that I took out from them.
I am doubtful as to the validity of his claim, but he replied to a request of personal info with the bank account number and my SSN. Should I believe him based on that info alone, or should I seek further confirmation? I believe the loan has been paid back (which put my account in the negative, but that's another story).
I am trying to pay my creditors, but I have to make sure that I am paying the appropriate ones.

Thank you,

Chris Hazard

Also, the rep has been really slow to respond to my emails, and he doesn't answer specific questions (except the one regarding personal info for confirmation) that I have or address specific issues that I have brought up.
Could this be phishing or some kind of scam? I realize that he had my bank account number and SSN, but these days, I am sure that a LOT of people out there know those things about me, so I can't trust it. Also, I have read on various web sites that many of those PDL shops are not the most "morally sound" institutions.
Keep in mind that I took the loan out in 2003, and he JUST RECENTLY contacted me about it, and they have had my email address all along. Seems kind of
(p)fishy...

Has anyone received threats from these peopel or this name? I am questioning the valdidity of them due to her email address being listed as dmsmktg.com, also below is a snippet of the email I received from her can anyone tell me if this could be legal and possible and if so could someone advise me on how to handle??
Note: I have responded to you with VERY detailed information relating to the debt owed. I don't possess ALL the necessary payment information to prevent further action. Please respond or more fees will be added and further actions will be taken! Not responding will ONLY make matters worse.

I have sent you this email already and have ALL the necessary information ready to collect the balance in FULL. Please contact me ASAP! This is a very serious matter and can't be held up in this office any longer. Please respond before COB 6/19/06.

When we set up the accounts and issued the loan it was with the understanding that payments would be made, but unfortunately at this time we show that there has been nothing that has been paid out from your bank account and you have actively stopped any attempts we've made to retrieve our funds which constitutes theft. We have contacted you various times in various ways (e-mail, letters, phone) trying to re-establish contact with you and work this out in good faith. We have been acknowledged only with your silence, false promises, or outright refusal. Please touch base with me before (24) hrs if you want to resolve this so I may make any necessary adjustments. After this date, extensions and missed/late fees will begin to accumulate once more. A VERY serious review into this matter will begin on 6/19/2006, but you do have until the date shown above before necessary actions are taken against you. Please respond to this email so that I may help in preventing further action and more fees accumulating on this account.

Thanks,

Sharon D. Williams

I had a $100.00 loan with Xpress Cash. After paying $120.00 in interest and fees on the account, I sent them the letter asking my account to be marked "Paid in Full" (I live in Arkansas and the maximum interest allowed is 10%). They have never responded to my multiple emails and faxes, yet twice in the last couple of weeks I have received letters from them at my home telling me that due to "being such a loyal and valuable customer in the past" that I am approved for a NEW loan. How stupid would I have to be to take another loan out with them; and how stupid (or greedy) are they for offering me another loan after me requesting my account be marked "Paid in Full"?

I, too have received several emails from Mr. Schleppi. I have never had a loan with these folks and have sent several emails telling them they need to validate this debt. I finally got a call from this guys supervisor Mr. Mashburn about the email responses I sent back to Schleppi. I then turned around and sent Mr. Mashburn a validation letter and told him I have never had loan with them. I have yet to see a thing from them.

I had a loan out with this company and I now have it with my consolidation company. I spoke with a gentleman by the name of Mark Frakland at 800-757-8373 and he was very nice and helpful to me. They accepted the payment arrangement proposal from my credit counselor and I haven't had any problems with them.
