I got a call today from Money Line about a Payday loan I paid off in Nov 2005. This is the second time I have been contacted about this loan after paying it off. The fist time I was contacted was by Taylor James and Associates. This time was by the fraud division of ML Inc. Both times I told them I had proof that I had paid the account off and I could fax them a copy of the letter they signed agreeing to a settlement amount and a copy of the money order I paid with. Both times they apologized and said they would correct their records. I wonder how many people don't keep accurate records and pay them again? I sure am glad I have kept good records while paying off these stupid payday loans!!!!!

Very good, Kathryn. You kept those records safely. Otherwise, there would not have been any proof of your words. These companies are a pain to deal with not keep their records updated. They have money earned from various sources. If you failed to produce any records, they might have used their money to push a legal case against you. This way, they would have tried to earn some more. Your post will help all of us to understand that the bills that have been paid off should not be thrown as trash. You never know a situation like this creates and you will need it for proof.
