Even though I know I need to be patient and let T & C do their job, but how long does it take from the time they receive my $155.00 fee till I hear anything from T & C on any outcome? I am just getting bugged by the creditors saying they haven't heard from T & C and until they receive a payment, this debt is my responsibility. I know that T & C just sent out the proposals a week ago, but I can't deal with these calls anymore. Please give me advise on how long this will take?

Does T&C quote that you will have to default on your payments for a couple of months at least? If that is the case, you may have to wait for the results of the negotiations a while. Those who have defaulted for longer period can get the results faster than the ones who are regular in their payments or who have just defaulted. Contact them and inquire about the latest status.

I am maybe 2 payments behind with everything....I called T & C today and they stated they sent out the proposals and heard nothing back :( I am just getting sick of the harassment from the creditors and want a resolution.

Is T & C open on the weekends? Also, they have a email address too, right?

T&C is not open on weekends. Yes they have an email, but they cannot email back out. In other words you can email, but they can't answer back. I will PM you the email. They have had to fax several proposals to some of my lenders/creditors for different reasons. If you will read the thread HSBC phone calls you will see how they are continuing to call me and won't accept proposals as I am not current, this could very well be your case. I know it is a pain to keep getting the calls from the creditors, but just tell them T&C is handling your account and you will have to talk to them and hang up. Don't let them intimidate you.

I second what Lorri said. It took a little while for all my lenders to sign off on the proposals. Sometimes what T&C initially proposes is not accepted by the lender so they have to send an updated proposal. I think it took a month 2-3wks before I started feeling good about everything. I rec'd a couple of calls just recently from a couple of lenders concerned about payments but when I called T&C they had been sent in the mail. The folks at T&C were kind enough to call the lenders and make sure they got the payments and even called me back to let me know everything is ok. Just be patient and keep in contact with T&C. Things should be much better soon.

I signed up with T & C in late December. It seemed to take forever because of the Holidays. Anyway, I was told by a counselor there that they send the letters out within a couple of days of receiving the retainer fee. They have to set up your account in their system first and I believe they are busier than ever now thanks to this forum. I would be patient and let your counselor know about any calls that you get. In my case, they contacted the creditors and faxed over proposals. Some pdl companies that I had listed refused the proposals but accepted the payments.

Thanks for the reassurance....I just don't want these creditors thinking I am running from them. I told them all who I was consolidating with and even gave them T & C's phone number, but they still continue to call me. I understand why b/c they haven't received the proposal's yet, but its aggrevating to me and I want things to happen right away.

Is that $155.00 fee just the setup fee? That seems awfully high.

I also have questions about T & C. Why is it that we have to ask to have their contact info Pmd to us on this site? Why is that info just not posted? Are you getting paid for referring people to T & C?

And why don't they have a website that I can find so that I can research just what they offer before I call them? It just seems odd. If they are such a reputable company, one would think that they would have a highly visible presence online.

No offense, but it comes across like T & C is some kind of secret society on this board.

It's not a secret society at all. No one is getting paid to refer people to T&C. A lot of us on here have used Town & Country Acceptance in Alabama for debt management because they work with payday loan companies. They are a good company. If you would like more information about them please feel free to PM me, I highly recommend them.

Clay---that is exactly what I had to do when I first started with T&C cause I couldn't do both.

Big Ed---T&C is not a "secret society" at all and no one gets paid to refer customers to them. Many of us have had such great results from using them that we want to let everybody know. They are a great company and many people here have or are using them to consolidate debts.

We ask a little bit about newcomers to get an idea of what type of financial situation you are in and what kind of assistance you are looking for. We always welcome new members and want to get to know you. This community can be a very valuable resource for someone looking for financial advice, sometimes personal advice and even just some friends that you have something in common with. We all though seem to have "debt" in common and are always seeking new ideas and ways to reduce it. Please join us!

I was able to have the money because I didnt pay renewal fees for payday loans, closed my checking, opened a new one and went from there. I can really see why people are getting this impression about T & C though. It does come across as some big secret on here. I was fortunate enough to get their contact info before we were prohibitedd from doing so to people with fewer than so many points. Im just gonna come right out and say that I am sure there is pretty good logic for requiring a number of points but I dont agree with it. I have posted on here for a while and helped as many people as I can and I have nowhere near 5000 pts, or even 3,000. If I had to wait on all this to get T & C's contact info I would have been bankrupt. These people are in need of immediate help and I just think that this procedure is making T & C out to look like some shady operation, and I know from experience that is not the case. Please know I am not complaining just letting my opinion be known. Stephanie

I am working with T&C and I was having the same problems that you were having. I couldn't get in contact with them either. So I started to fax them and they would call me back by the end of the day. When I didn't hear anything about my PDL's receiving some information, I became really persistent.

If you are trying to call them, forget it. You can be on hold for up 20 minutes (I was on there 23 minutes and it is hard when you are wasting valuable cell phone minutes).

Eventually, I got in contact with them and each of my PDLs who told me that they had contact them. Only one didn't agree to the settlement arrangement. But I am working things out with them myself.

As far as the phone calls go, get in contact with T&C and they will take care of that for you.
