I just received a call at 9:45 pm from 212-313-3500. when i called back it was a conference line voice mail and i could not understand the name he used. I have been having problems with Academy collections and now was wondering who else is harassing me. I have had some things happen to me in the last year that was out of my control and now i owe money to Citibank. I can't settle with a lump sum and told them i could pay $50 a month, now i wouldn't pay them (acdemy)a dime of my money. I called Citibank about them and they didn't say anything but that i should have been making payments. to make a long story short, I asked citibank if i sent money to them (Citibank) would they accept whatever i could send? She told me it would go towards the balance and now I am sending them the money....I owe Citibank, not Academy!

By all means pay Citibank!! Always if you can, pay the OC. This way there is no confusing and you are dealing with them directly.

In this forum there are a lot of posts regarding trouble people have had with Academy. Avoid them all together!!

Also since you are paying Citibank, go ahead and send a C&D letter to Academy and if you feel the need to, state that you are paying Citibank directly.

Citibank would hire this firm? They would be putting out a whole lot more money than I owe them!!!! So, now what should I do? Has anyone else had this company call them?
