Garnishment cannot take place without a court order. The company has to file papers against you in the court and the judge will fix a court hearing date. You need to explain the problems why you are not able to pay back the loan amount. The judge will fix short monthly payments to pay back the loan amount before the need to file judgment is finally required.

Write letters to the loan companies and fix payment arrangements with them. You can settle the matter outside the court. Try to advance some money along with your proposal plan. The lenders will get some assurance from you about your payments.

Hey Lassie! I'm finsfan!! Guns gave you some really good advice...I seriously doubt an online payday loan lender will garnish you. Most of them are operating illegally, and I think they'd have a very hard time getting a judgement, especially if you've been paying. They might try to use a wage assignment, they are very big fans of these...Just send a letter stating that you revoke any wage assignment along with your payment proposal, and that should cover all bases.
If your companies are store front lenders, like identity_crisis said, they have a better chance of getting a judgement against you and actually garnishing your wages. If you do end up being garnished, you have options. Let us know what happens.

I too am dealing with Cash Transfer Centers. They are really rude. They will not work with me on payment arrangements or anything. Fortunately for me, the company I work for does not honor independent request for deductions, so CTC will be really angry to find out that their threats of wage assignment will have no affect on me. One thing I have learned through all this is "there isn't a debtor's jail." So don't stress over this, things will work out. Just keep reading this forum and you will see that you are not alone, we are all in the same boat one way or another.
