Ok....

Today I went to my attorney to sign my settlement papers from my car accident last year. I'm getting a very large check tomorrow, and I had to sign a bunch of paperwork and read through the contracts..lol Once the check clears in 7-10 days, I'll be completely out of debt and then some....So my financial situation DOES look good...WEIRD.

Now the second part hasn't happened yet.....Hmmmmm...Wonder who's coming over?

Yeah, most of it is going far far away where I can not waste it. The amount I'm getting isn't enough to retire at 25, but it's enough to pay off everything I owe and still be able to do something smart. :) I'm just not sure what yet.

I opened an account at a bank close by. I've had to use internet banks (ETrade Financial) since I'm on Chexsystems which has worked, but I have to mail my deposits, and there is no way in hell I'm mailing this check. NO WAY.

So I walked into the bank and said, "Look, here's the deal...I'm going to need somewhere to put this check tomorrow..." and showed them the paperwork. Somehow by magic they were able to approve me, even though they declined me in January..lol I guess they want that check, huh?

I am going to buy some new clothes, and get new tires for my car...I don't like thinking about spending it though..lol I'm stingy. I'm also going to plan a vacation for next year. And with my new job, I don't get a discount, BUT I have a lot of time during the day to look at destinations..hehe

I am so glad it's over. I framed my deposit receipt. LOL

I'm getting an opportunity to start all over. When this check clears (Which should be a week from today. YAY!) I'll be able to pay off everything that I owe. I've made so many bad decisions with money in the past 8 years, I'm NEVER going to do that again.

I do though, feel kinda like a jerk since I get to do it the "easy" way. Not that recovering from a car accident was easy, but I'm basically being rewarded for it.

I was talking to my sweetie, Chris last night, and he told me to look at it this way. My life was out of control. I was spending very STUPIDLY. I got myself in a big mess with the PDL's, and other bills. I was out of control. Now I know I've got to be careful and do things right. I've got the money to do it now, and I get that new chance. It's like God was stopping me, like "Hey girl, if you're not going to do it yourself, I'm going to do it for you!" :) Too bad he had to wreck me.

But geez, I am so lucky. I didn't even get whiplash. Just my left leg. No other bruises or anything. Now, I'm GLAD nothing else got hurt, because that foot/leg/ankle HURT.
