my husband and I had a few online payday loans that we couldnt repay and they started debiting fee after fee from our bank aact and it was closed. Now we've been making small payments to one company at at time. We got a phone call from one company today threatening legal action if we didnt pay the balance in full by tomorrow. We live in Florida. can we be prosecuted in criminal court if we cant pay them?any help is appreciated! thanks~

Check if the lending company is doing a legitimate business in your state. With that said, they must have a valid license in your state. Threatening legal actions is the favorite sentence used by the lenders but in most cases, they only blow hot air. Ask the lenders to give you the latest statement of your loan account and see if the charges added in it are within the state laws.
