I have my letters ready to go out but i was wondering if i should close my bank account now so that they can not take anymore money out.

Some people choose to close their bank accounts because some PDL's have been known to debit the accounts anyway, and then you have an even bigger battle. I was advised by my Credit Counselor to close my bank account to avoid that situation. Some people choose to keep them open and they also give copies of the revokation letters to the banks. In my situation, I could not close my bank account because I was not able to get direct deposit switched over in time so my bank put a block on all debits and I just opened a new one anyway.

I highly recommend that you close your account and open a new one. I know there are some others who've had luck getting the debits stopped but when we started this process I was not going to take that chance so we opened a new account. It's a little hassle to get your direct deposit (if you have it) moved over and other things but in the long run the work will be worth it.

Welcome to the forum Stacey!! Glad to have you here!
