I got a call from Geneva Roth and Cash Advance USA. After a little cat and mouse game with the caller I was able to wrangle a fax number for both of them in case anyone is in need of them. Geneva Roth's fax number is 913-825-9971 and the lady I spoke with was a Ms. Ragsdale. Cash Advance USA's fax number is 877-520-4380 and that lady's name was Caroline Bishop.I never could get Ms. Bishop to say which PDL was under Cash Advance USA, and I have so many PDLs that I am sending letters to that I don't know which one is under that company. I checked my bank statement, but Cash Advance USA was not on there. Does anyone know?

This is strange! The collector is collecting for a debt without identifying the loan company. I smell a rat here if the company is trying to make easy money from you. If they don't have your account details, it is for sure that they will pocket your money. Don't pay anything until you have everything in paper about the loan company. They will try to intimidate and scare you for getting your personal info. Don't give it out. Use your legal rights. fdcpa laws are there to offer you legal protection from such companies.

Thank you so much for this info. There are so many small companies under one umbrella that I figured maybe it was the parent company. Thanks for the warning. I wasn't going to give out any information I only wanted to fax them a letter to either settle my loan as "PAID IN FULL" and even give me a refund if possible. I have answers from three PDLs so far and I have about seven more to go. I just refaxed for a second time these seven companies that are left, but haven't heard anything back yet. How long should I give them to respond? My letter stated seventy-two hours, but it seems they ignored that.

There are no laws that force the collection agencies to give you the details within the specified time. But if they have hit your credit report without legitimate reasons, you can dispute with the credit bureaus with copies of your validation. They will run an investigation and if your dispute is found correct, the negative item is removed from your file.
