Did you get my PM about your vehicle. I haven't heard from you so I thought I'D give you a shout.

yes, I got the PM, but I don't have the parts yet, I might have a couple other things to do at the same time if thats possible? hopefull y I will get mocing on thisin the next few weeks.

Andy guessed right, I was reassigned on Monday and now a have a daily job based in McHenry, IL, about 50 miles from my home. It takes about and hour and a quarter to get there. I go on duty at 5:20 AM and I finish up at 6:45 PM. So I have to get up around 3:30 in the morning to be there on time. I get home around 7:45 or 8:00 in the evening. The good thing is I now have scheduled days (weekends and holidays) off, and I no longer have to wait around for the phone to ring to go to work.

I have dropped by deleted some spam, but really haven't been able to spend as much time as I have in the past. Hopefully once I get the hang of this assignment I will be able to figure out a way to spend some more time here.

In the mean time, thanks for your patience.

Prior to my current assignment, I only received a 2 hour call to be at work. When I was on freight, you could set your watch by be being at least 10 minutes late every day ( which is usually the time it takes the Conductor to get my paperwork ready for me). Freight isn't as time sensitive, and often the trains weren't even there yet.
My new assignment is working Metra Commuter (passenger) service between McHenry, IL and Chicago. With Passenger, I try to report at least 10 minutes early every day. I set my alarm for 3:30, and I have to be out of the house no later than 4:10 . that gets me to work by about 5:10- 5:20. I'll hold this job until either :

    The End of the Year
I can hold an assignment closer to home (like the assignment I was bumped off of in the first place).
I get tired of the drive and go back to freight till I can hold another passenger assignment closer to home

But I gotta admit, its nice not having to dread the phone ringing, and being able to actually plan what to do with a weekend without having to figure out how to get it off.
