I would rather believe that this number is originating overseas and the do not call registry hardly works on them. You along with others getting calls from such numbers need to take a chance by blasting their system with calls, faxes, dial up modems etc. All of us need to start bombarding them like they are doing on us. Hopefully we will be able to identify who the caller is.

wow ur an ideot anthony...and a loser obviously..the correct answer would be to answer the call it could be a soliciter how do u know who it it if ur that scared of a creditor finding ur number call it back from a blocked number (*67-the number)and then ask what call is regarding if is a good agency they wont disclose info then say well i recieved a call at ,give them the number where your recieving calls, if they ask for you you always have the optin to say your john smith and you were just issued this number and youve never heard of that person and ask pollitely if the number can be removed..keep in mind they dont know its not you and always suspect it is if your polite they will 99% of the time remove the number if you call in pissy or with an attitude chances are theyll call you later in the day...which seems like harassment but if you cant prove its not you how are they gonna get in trouble for it and if you try to sue how would you prove its not you when the number is clearly registered to your residency...the thing is think about it were not dumb and most people who try to play games end up looking really sdtupid and immature like the first response you were given...plug tha fax in...is he serious sre you really that immature? im sure your not and chances are its a wrong number, you shouldnt be afraid anyhow unless you owe the dbt in which case you should be ashamed of yourself for being so irresponsible
They dont take your name off, they call more often.

If you call in irate chances are they wont remove it - thats if the number they give you accually works and they havent hung up on you or called you a liar everytime you call.

They didnt call.
They didnt send a letter.
They did a property search and threw my name on an account that was nameless because I had a phone line YEARS before at that address.

Ok.....since no one has said it, I will:
IDEOT? Collector - first off, don't offend us with language like that. Anthony made a simple statement that did not warrant such a response. Second, if you are going to be like that, learn to spell and don't type like you are 10 years old. There's these things called capital letters and punctuation - please use them accordingly.

they did a property search and put your name on an account??? are you saying that a collection agency found you owned a home and put your name on an account in hopes you would pay them....i am sooo serious do you know how ludacris that sounds???...your just a s ****ing stupid as anthony...i mean really where do you guys come up with this sit that somone is out to get you??? its funny i called somone asked for a dbt and the man asked where i was calling from i disclosed the name of my company..he then says were not intrested and hung up...after reviewing his credit bureau report which was just wrecked i cant believe tha audacity he had to even suggest somone would be calling him to offer him credit....why so he could **** it up like everything else...seriously get a clue and if your not sure pull your credit

Collector--It happens ALL the time. Maybe you don't realize it, because you're brainwashed that anyone that owes money is evil.
I had someone trying to collect a debt that wasn't mine. Ever heard of identity theft. Nebraska Furniture Mart..Problem one...I don't live in Nebraska...Problem number two..I've never actually BOUGHT furniture..My home is full of my grandmother's furniture...No I WILL NOT pay $750 for items I did NOT purchase. Now I have this handy fraud alert on my CR's.
Oh, and collector....It takes one to know one. I would LOVE to bring up all of the misspellings and idiotic things you've said, but I have to go to work today. I'll just leave you with my favorite part.
"he then says were not intrested and hung up...after reviewing his credit bureau report which was just wrecked i cant believe tha audacity he had to even suggest somone would be calling him to offer him credit."
Where's a red pen when you really need one? intrested? I'm also amused that you can spell AUDACITY, but you can't spell "THE"

READ MY POST... notice the words YREAS before?

I was in university - renting - nowhere did I state that I owned the property.
Im stating that they tacked my name to the account well knowing that the account wasnt mine because the credit report that they searched CLEARLY stated my current address in hopesd that I would pay.
It is very common for collection agencies to skip trace and call
It is very common for collection agencies to skip trace and call people with the same last name, etc. I had one calling our house asking for my husband, and calling all of our relatives. It was really embarrassing and made me mad. I had trouble getting the CA on the phone, but finally I got to talk to someone. I spent over 30 min on the phone with these people because they were convinced they had the right person. All the info they had was completely inaccurate. The guy they were looking for had the same first and last name as my husband, but different middle name. They had the wrong SS#, wrong current address, wrong previous addresses. I had them read me their info and told them it was all wrong. They kept insisting that I give them my husband's SS# and our address. I already knew they had the wrong person. We had never had an account with the OC they were talking about, they had my husband as a business owner, which he was not. We just kept going in circles because they just kept asking for our info over and over. I told them...you have the wrong guy, I am NOT giving you my husband's SS# or our address. What did they need that stuff for, it was clearly NOT the same person!!! So, Collector #1, explain that to me please. Just because someone has the same name, does NOT mean they are the correct debtor.

If you read on Budhibbs.com, they tell you that you CANNOT block a company from getting your phone number, even if you use *67, they are still capable of getting your phone number.

Check my other post in the previous thread. You really need some serious English literature classes from your mom, buddy. If that doesn't work, give me your phone number, I will teach you if you want me to.
Note: This is in return to your personal attacks on me. Don't do that again otherwise, I will get you banned from here. When you will come here next time, a screen will pop up "YOU ARE BANNED" because you deserved it. Be decent and I will hear you.
