Hi-

I see that many people here talk about T&C. How can I contact them? Someone from Superior called me yesterday and told me that no one will be able to help me with payday loans. I'm not sure what to do next - I've already closed my account when one lender told me that my bank would have to return the fee as insufficient funds and then they would call me for arrangements. But in the meantime, I'm going to rack up overdraft fees at my bank. I called Wachovia - they suggested I close my account and so I did. Now I need someone to help me negotiate payment arrangements with them - outside of my checking account, of course. Can anyone help?

woops!some how my whole post got deleted, except for the last part of my name  What I was saying was welcome to the forum-hope you signed up for the free credit counseling, they can answer alot of your questions. Thaere are companies that work with pdls. Also browse the forums on this topic and you will find others who have been in your shoes, and what they have done. Have you tried to work out arrangements with the original creditors? I fthey won't,someone with the credit counseling can help you in the right direstion-Good Luck...Karen

Hi Karen,

Thanks for your reply. Superior is the only company that called me and they told me that no one can help me consolidate PDLs. I haven't heard from anyone else yet. And no one from the site has called me re: counseling. I guess I'll just wait.

It is better to approach your lenders first and propose your payment plans. Some of them are easier to work with while a few may sound tough in the beginning. Since you are making all the efforts to pay the past accounts and they want to get their money back, some arrangements can be done so that the accounts get cleared off. Be sure that if some extensions have been offered to you, don't miss your payments in the plan. They extend such benefits only if you want to clear the debt accounts without defaulting further.

You are welcome, Mercy. We all are going through similar experience and you can relate with most of us. You will even hear success stories about how people have paid their debt accounts and are out of the payday loan trap. Once you reach the other end, swear on never taking a payday loan again. It's a relief!

vivian, I will not suggest you to close your bank account before you can prove that the company did something illegal. If you close the account before, they might hold it against you saying that you were refusing to pay back them back. Talk to your bank supervisor who might help you in blocking the debit of the company. Every company has a transaction ID through which the debits are done. If your bank is able to block the ID of the company, the lenders won't have anything from your account.

Vivian,
After talking with one of my PDLs and they told me that they had to debit my account & when it came back ISF, they would call me for payment arrangements - I did something radical. I closed my checking account at my bank and then simultaneously reopened a new one(I did not give any new account info. to the PDLs). I then called them and told them the account was closed and that I had to arrange to pay them another way - they made arrangements with me because they want their money. Then I contacted T&C - now they're dealing with them. This is what worked for me but I'm not telling you what you should do - I just felt as if I just had no choice left; talked to T&C yesterday. I hope your situation improves soon.

thanks mercy...i am not with t&c. i've just talked to somebody who called from this website, i guess.
i hope i won't have any problem but they are going to start talking to my pdls in a month or so as soon as they debit my first payment.
i was going to close my bank account but i couldn't stop direct deposit from my work this time.
i will before the next due date which is in 2weeks.
should i just freeze my account or close it altogher?
i know that they charge me $20 each to block from debit....

Vivian,

When the DC company starts talking with your PDLs, I would close the account altogether and just open another one. Talk to the people at your bank; be honet and open with them, explaining what's happening. My bank did this for me in 5 minutes and it cost me nothing. You might think it's a hassle to talk to your payroll dept. & change your direct deposit info. and then let all your other auto bill payments know to change your account info. but the peace of mind is worth it because the PDLs may still try to recover their money through your account. But if it's closed - they can get nothing from you other than through the DC company.

Yes, always keep in contact with them.

They have been so busy lately with all the new people this forum has sent their way, so it may seem that they "forget" about you, when really, they're just really busy. So, don't get discouraged if you don't hear from them for a week or so. They will update you, and if it does make you feel better, call them and ask about your account frequently, and ask for statements on who they're paying each pay cycle, and how much. They can provide you with written statements for that so you have proof in case the shady PDL's try to claim that they are not receiving payments.

good luck and keep us posted! :)
