I have put in the threat before about my issue -- I was contacted by another person name Barry Dawson - and said that I need to pay $602 but he can start with payment arrangement -- I stated this is in regards to a payday loan. But would not provide me with any other info to what pdl it's from and so forth. I had arrangement with them and after making my first payment for $100 -- I was constantly getting calls from the same number with different people and now this guy Dave Jones whom I spoke to weeks ago said that Barry is no longer with the company and said that my account has been transferred to him. ask me to make the arrangement with him. After the convo -- he called again -- but i didn't pick up, he left a voicemail asking for my account number. But I never called him back.
So it has been almost 3 weeks to 1 month now..i just started receiving a call from him again...what should I do...I can't seem to find any info on this number. Please help!

Thank you -- I called that number myself and got a fax machine -- but I wonder myself if I wrote down the right number or not...but I went thru my file and found that it was 800-392-4029 in the past. Either David Jones have me the wrong number or I wrote it down wrong. I delete my v-mail already..damn it! But should I attempt to find out the address and send them the ceased and desist letter?

Note down the time and dates of the phone calls for your records. Do not give out your personal information until you know the name of the company. Once you have got their details, send a cease and desist letter along with a debt validation letter. If you get the name of the loan company they are collecting for, try dealing with them instead.

Please do not send any money to them. This is a scam. I have heard many horror stories from prople who sent their life savings. Call Either FBI or the local police. they will monitor and track these people.

I did a reverse look up on 613-226-4730 and this is a land line in Ottawa City, Canada. A name was available but you have to pay for that info and I didn't want to waste my money...

I reseaved a call from this number not to long ago. I didn't answer due to me being in class. When I went back through my missed call list I found this unknown number. I did a google surch and found this page about it. I normaly check unknown numbers thinking it might be from a friend with a new cell phone. Upon reading this I have deleated it from my phone and am glad I was unable to answer. So thank you for this information.

I hate to say it, but canadian CA's are notorious for violating fdcpa. Unless they have a US branch office, they will continue to violate as not many will go to the lengths to sue a foreign entitiy.
If you do google.ca search, (google searching in Canada) you can find the BBB in Ottawa. File a complaint.

Clark says that the person making the phone call could be doing it with the internet phone. He says anyone can set up a phone number for anywhere in the world right here in the U. S. A.
