Wait for some time until the consultant calls you up. He will let you know about your options. As per your situation, he can assist you in deciding if a consolidation program will work for you or a consolidation loan.
My take is that you should not take a new loan to pay the previous debts. You are forced to pay the interests twice on the existing debts as well as on the new loan amount. Besides, you need to have collateral when a loan company offers you new credit. This is not necessary in a consolidation program, though. All the bills are combined together into one easy monthly payment scheme. The total amount will be lowered down that will eliminate most of the financial charges and late fees. Don't worry and make your health go down. There are positive options during such times of financial crisis. You will feel better after talking with the counselor.

How much is the total amount of your debt and what type of debts are these. Do you mind discussing about them? Someone who has already dealt in this situation in the past will be able to guide you through.
