is your debt settlement going? Any major
complications arizen yet with any cc's?
I am so confused....with it. I am wondering after
paying 4200.00 if I have done the right thing or
not. I have looked into bankruptcy but really, really think that the settlement is still my best option. What do you think?

Keep in mind that settlement is still better than filing bankruptcy. This is often considered to be the last resort before bankruptcy is ultimately filed. Though, any of these can be an option to eliminate the past debts, bankruptcy will have a deeper negative impact in your credit file. If your accounts are paid off through the settlement programs, most of the future lenders will appreciate it. Although the interest rates may be quite higher, but you can convince them better unless you have already filed for bankruptcy.

Hi Linda,
My settlement process is going well. I'm too lazy to log in right now. I believe my first debt will be settled within the next couple of weeks. Try not to fret because you have not been served with anything. We can only take it one day at a time. The other gentleman was sharing his experience with us and not to ignore the types of letter that he receives. I was told upfront from my settlement company that it was always possible to get sued so I knew the risks before I signed up with my company. Then again, I am on an eighteen month plan right now. If something does happen, then I will take care of it to the best of my ability. My settlement company told me that there was no guarantee that they couldn't win a suit against me but that we could ask for more time since I am trying to do something about it. I have proof of the payments made to my settlement company and they keep a close eye on my accounts.
