An electronic debit came through my bank account yesterday from Geneva Roth Vent. Does anyone know who this is? A collection agency? If so, for who? I have not knowingly given authorization for such a debit.

Have you ordered anything online recently? I think the best course of action would be to go to request an itemized statement for all purchases done with your debit card over the last 30 days or so. If anything appears on there that you do not recognize, talk to someone at your bank about it. Geneva Roth Vent tend to be pretty helpful in such situation, as they don't like to get sued, nor do they like to lose their customers. Also, it's really helpful to keep a clear and accurate record of all purchases you make, either with your debit card, credit card, or by check. It's easy to forget to do this with all the card we have these days, but even a little notepad stuffed into your wallet is good. I also use Excel (since I had to get it for school anyway) to keep track of things at home. At the end of the day, I pull out all my receipts and record all my purchases, even those made with cash. this has the double benefit of helping me eliminate wasteful spending (though sometimes I wish it hadn't. Starbuck's, I miss you!)

Geneva Roth Vent. It's the same things a LoanPointUSA . . . same owner, same address, even e-mails from Geneva Roth come from @loanpointusa.com addresses. Phone number is 800-351-8820. But you can fax to 913-825-9971. (Notice that they claim to be in Utah but the area code of the fax is in Kansas.)

If Geneva Roth Vent is debiting your account illegally..you should speak to your bank immediately..they will help you with these...for Felisha, talk to the bank, put a block on your account.

On my statement it comes up as: Geneva Roth Vent Loan. Who the hell is that?? How do I handle this?? And I googled them and still can't find to much out!! Please HELP!!!

Welcome to the forum Princess G.
I think they own a lot of Pay Day loan companies among other things. Someone with more knowledge will be along to assist you.

Start monitoring you account very closely!!! Soon you will have debit charges to SMITH HAYNES WATSON LLC on your account....another Geneva Roth Vent company...If possible close your account immediantly and open with a new account number......Good Luck

I have recently opened a new checking account and they found it somehow and debited 400.00. I have to return a car I just bought because the down payment got rejected because of an unauthorized transaction from these -----!!!

they really need to be shut down, everyone who is having trouble with them and anyone who is a victum of them doing illegeal things, please report them to the proper authorities. they really are hurting people and i hate to see it happen.
i do not have their info on me but if you do a search you can find a number, they really are not easy to work with and they probably will give you a hard time. i had a loan with them and they refused to settle! and the loan was not legal. please contact your bank and please report them, this is not right.

Genevea Roth is a payday loan company. If you have had a payday loan that was not paid back and you apply for another one they will automatically debit the account you register to get the money. I had NO IDEA that they could do this either. I filed bankruptcy 3 years ago and was trying to build my credit. I applied for a small loan only to have my account overdrawn by these people. They can get it from any account even if it's not the one you applied for the loan with. It took some searching but i found their phone number eventually on my bank statement. They are very RUDE and treat you like dirt. They are just a bunch of crimanals.

By law they can not debit any old account they feel like, no matter how much they may have lent you. Also add in that this loan was included in your bankruptcy then it is doubly illegal for according to your bankruptcy you no longer owe them any money!

Contact your bank asap and tell them the debit was never authorized by you.

I have gotten a few payday loans in the past, which, instead of repaying, I let my bank account close, marked their emails as spam, and simply opened another bank account elsewhere. I applied for a new payday loan, and received a 200.00 deposit into my new account. Geneva Roth Vent, one of the former payday lenders, was made aware of the application I had submitted (when applying for a payday loan, your information is sent to many different lenders) and used my new bank account information to ACH withdrawal what they felt they had coming to them. I filed a dispute with the new bank, which was honored, and the monies and NSF fees were credited back to my account immediately. Here's why this worked; When GRV issued me the initial loan, I electronically signed my loan documents, acknowledging that the loan money would be deposited into my account, and withdrawals for repayment would be debited from the same. This was all good and fine. GRV deposited the money into my bank of XXX account, which I later closed. They had no recourse except for lame threats and bothersome calls, which eventually subsided. Now that they have found out that I have a new bank account, they tried to retrieve their money from it. Problem being is that I never authorized them to take money from any other account except from the XXX bank. They have committed a serious crime (electronic theft & embezzlement) by accessing my new bank account for which they have not been authorized to do. I can hazard an educated guess that payday loans will soon become obsolete. If you don't pay your loan back, the lenders have very few options. The last thing they want to do is to spend a lot of time and money to prosecute you, as they would have to send someone to your state to go to court as a representative of their company, and risk the chance of your not showing up. This would cost their company much more than their initial 200.00 loan and interest rate. They typically do not pursue this route for those very reasons. They prefer to call you and harass you, sent numerous emails, and cast idle threats. If the payday loan company threatens to sue you, accept gladly, and tell them to get the paperwork to you as soon as possible, rest assured that they will not send you anything. They don't have a leg to stand on. In closing, all stated have laws governing payday loans (money transmitters). I suggest you research the applicable laws for your state. You should find a detailed list of companies that are licensed in your state to conduct these types of loans. If the loan company that you are having issues with is not listed, you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

If you ever had a payday loan (up to 10 years back) This company will take it from whatever account you have. I did manage to get ahold of a person there and was treated like a piece of dirt. They are rude, nasty people! They have no empathy or sympathy and don't care if they put you in the poor house. WATCH OUT FOR PAYDAY LOANS!!!
