I was contacted by Ruben Moreno about a credit card debt. He said that if I didn't send the money, he would go to court to have my paycheck garnished. He really has me worried. He said if I give him a check number and routing and account number, he will give me until the 15th of March to get the money in the bank.
What should I do? Should I put a "Stop Payment" on that check number? I think I will, because of the information I have read on this site. It sounds like
fraud to me.

I work at a switchboard at a hospital. These folks were calling asking for one of my employees. Prying for information and then asking for Human Resources. They are low class folks. When they thought I put them on hold, the guy made a derogatory comment about my employee. I do not recommend giving any information. These are low life bill collectors that do not deserve your time of day...
Work on paying back your debt to the credit card company though. Definately report them to that credit card company and maybe better business. record the call? Can't hurt.
Thank you to all who have provided info here. Have to love the Internet! Roland

these people are low. they were calling me as Attorney West's office threating me trying to get me to pay off a recent debt of my husband's ex-wife. I told them it wasn't my debt and they were divorced 4 years before the acct was opened so stop calling us. they said "this is the debt of Mrs. Joe Blow, you are Mrs. Blow so this is your debt.
Now they're calling again as 'Dir. Bernstein of THE FIRM' using buzz words like: referring to case scheduled for two days from now, need to get our statement about "the case", we must call back immediately.

I searched the number on whitepages.com (800)809-4952 but couldn't find it, then looked up 800.809.4952 on google and found VRM L.L.C. Vigden Receivables Mgmt collections agency in Houston.

These people are LOW. So be aware their new buzz words are "need your statement about your pending case calling from "THE FIRM".

The idiot who setup that spam bot can't code worth crap. Heck he couldn't code his way out of a paper bag. Let's see here:
Stress Relief
with the equal annotation it seems he would be trying to do a text hyperlink, well the second bracket is wrong, there is no address, which is wrong. So in other words (now spammer if you pay attention to what your bot is posting you need to really take a look at this) in short YOU FAIL!
