It's good that you are wanting to get control of your situation before things get even worse. The fact that you made even some effort to pay on them should show your credit card companies that you are trying. Just know that you are not alone and we are here for you. This means that your account is still current with your creditors. Did they cause any problems in accepting your small payment? If they are willing to work with you, you can continue in the same way or involve a counselor to do better negotiations. He will talk with the credit companies keeping your financial situation in mind.
