Hi tess3569
Welcome to the forums.
You can add a 100 word statement in your credit file which will explain your side of the story. This will be a helpful method to remove any negative information from your credit file. After seeing your file with the 100 word statement, the creditors will be convinced that the negative entry on your report occurred due to unfortunate reasons and is a reasonable cause of your damage to the credit. Keep in mind that the 100 word statement should be used to clarify inaccuracies and not the reasons of delinquency.

If you've recently pulled your credit report online, you can easliy log back into your credit file and add your 100 word letter there. It'll be easily viewable by all your creditors and also, a place where the creditors or Equifax can go when you dispute an item. You'll also have another place to type something when you dispute and item as well.

Hi allencenter
There is no set format of writing a 100 word statement because your case might differ from someone else and likewise. Keep in mind that you need to explain the facts within 100 words. Explain that you tried to resolve the account with the credit company and the CRA but the dispute has resulted no positive output. You must have proof of the points you are putting in the credit report. Your future lenders will view the 100 word statement and ask for clarification. Make sure that the information provided in the 100 word statement is not biased.
