They told me pay up, they didnt want to have to garnish my wages. I said I wanted proof of the debt, you could be anybody for all i know. Woman claimed there was NO time to mail a letter and wait for my response. I told her, I don't agree to that amount. So she calls again, acted like she was going to call my employer.
I was like oh well, they take me to court they will have to proof their case. It might cost me more in long run but i know that it will be done legally.
Yesterday another guy from Gerald E. Moore calls, says pay up or he will take me to court. I was like send me PROOF how do I know you are not just some guy claiming to be from a law office. So he says I will fax you your proof.
So today right or wrong, I go to get the fax, figured well maybe now I will have some proof that this is legit.. NOW IT GETS REALLY INTERESTING!!!
The time and date stamp says it was faxed on 9/22/2013, which is over 7 yrs from now!!! THEN it says the name of the creditor is World Asset Purchasing, LLC. THEN they give a settlement offer and it says their client is Worldwide Asset Purchasing. I also noticed the address on the fax cover sheet is not the same address as the actually letter.
Does this sound suspicious to anyone besides me?? You would think if they were legit and on the up and up this letter wouldnt be stamped 7 yrs in future.
I am sure Gerald E. Moore does not have your info. They are givi
I am sure Gerald E. Moore does not have your info. They are giving you a fake call and make some money out of you. Dispute the information sent by them. Send it through certified mail with return receipt requested. This will leave a proof of your actions taken to resolve the matter and knowing the accurate details of your account.
I will also like to contact the original creditor in this regard and get some more details. Check the SOL before you make any commitment with the company. This debt might also be listed in your credit report if it still valid. Get everything properly arranged before you make a payment plan and send your money.
