Thanks for all the help Lorri, I hope this post makes it through. Hello everyone. I am hoping that someone out there can help me. I am in payday loan debt and see no way out. I have heard stories such as mine and it all scares me to death. I dont know where to begin to get help. I have tried to find help, i cant find the T & C everyone talks about and all others I contact do not deal with payday loans. I know it is no ones fault but mine for getting in this spot but now my whole family is suffering because of it. I cant pay my bills, I cant be a good mom for having to worry everyday about what to do to get money. I cant keep seeing the look on my kids faces each day. I know I owe the money, I know it was stupid to take these things out, now I have admitted it, now what? where do I start, is there help. Im afraid to close my account afraid of being jailed or fired for calls at my job. Or taken to court for hot checks. Im in arkansas, they will let them do just about whatever to us folks here im afraid. So can anyone tell me where to start? Step by step, what I am to do? Do I close the account, keep it open, what do i do? I am really at the end of my rope here, can someone please tell me if there is help and hope? Thanks, Teresa

Hi terriann

You will get positive results when you start negotiating with your creditors and offer your payment plans. Most of the lenders will be willing to work out arrangements with you. Deal with your lenders confidently and offer a realistic payment plan. You won't feel depressed when you see the accounts paid off one by one.

No lender can send you to jail for not paying the debts. There are no debt prisons these days. Don't tense yourself with these thoughts.

Consider closing your checking account if the lenders are not accepting your proposal and debit money. You will need to review your bank accounts regularly for this purpose.

Your first move is to contact your lenders and get some extensions. I hope that it will be an easy process. Most of us have taken this step and returned with positive deals. I am sure you will return back to us with a smiling face. :)

Terriann---There is always hope and nothing is ever so bad it can't be fixed or repaired in some way, especially when you are dealing with things like money. Have you gotten to talk to one of the debt counselors from here yet? I would definitely follow John's advice and think about closing your bank account and open one at a completely different bank (don't give the PDL's any new info. that way they can't access YOUR money. Please check back and let us know how you are doing. Everyone here is always willing to help and are very experience with the problems dealing with lenders, pdl's, etc. Good luck!
