I purchased a Nissan and had severe fincial problems. My car was through Household Automated and they sent my file to you, which in turn it was turned over to Daniel N. Gordon, P.C. located at 3390 West 11th Ave. Suite D - PO Box 22338 --Eugene, OR 97402. 1-866-854-2708. My case was also turned over to West Assets phpne 1-888-214-8886. They informed me that they sent a notice to you that the car was paid in full and to release the title to me. I must say, in trying to locate any information I did call them 3 times since the information they gave me did not lead to the location of my title, she screamed at me to not call their office ever again and slamed the phone down. They also told me that they sent a letter to me stating that they have contacted you to release my car title to me. I am totally at the point of extreame stress trying to resolve this. Your prompt attention to my problem is greatly appreciated.

Sheila, if you have paid a car loan in full and have proof of payment and they have not given you your title, contact your state deparment of motor vehicle licensing for assistance they may be able to help you since the law provides certain statutory requirements for releasing title..

As jj said, call you state DMV and have them to a
"title search". You can then see who has title to your car, contact them to see if they have the title.

If they don't, perhaps you can show proof of paid in full and have them sign off the lien and have DMV issue you a new title for the car.

Good luck,
John

Jaime - I am sure you can contact your state's DMV and file a lost title form, which would allow you to replace your lost copy. There is probably a small fee, but since you really can't do squat with the car without one...

But do not leave your title in your car. There is really no reason to keep it there. If you feel the need to have it in the vehicle, make a photocopy and carry that, but put the title in a safe place inside your house.
