I think I need help reading the report I received.

well maybe I should get the free credit reports first, the company I paid to get the one I'm confused about didn't give me complete account numbers.

But... ACC which is Asset Acceptance is showing twice on my report once under efx and then again for xpn.
on xpn shows unpaid and efx shows open, both with the same first 3 acct number

I had an account with them I opened in 1996, it shows closed on the report and that I was over the limit at one point by 70 dollars, I haven't made any payments to them since 1998

I'm sorry to post all these seperate but I thought It would be easier to respond that way.

this was opened in 1997 shows transferred with past due of 0. history date of 4/2005 and the 24 month history is blank. I don't remember when I stopped making payments, but it must have been some time in 1998 or maybe 1999

m0ney_g1rl, you need to dispute this item with the credit bureau reporting. As per the FCRA laws, it is past the 7 years reporting period and should not stay in your file now. The company can enter the information if you have a payment towards the account within the SOL period. Dispute with the bureau and get this item verified. Collection entries hurt the scores severely. Once it is removed from your file, your credit will get some repair and scores will rise up.
