In any case, the legal authorities must get aware if the collection agency is practicing illegal business. Under the federal laws, A CA can be sued for each fdcpa violation. Earlier, I heard this thing happening with NCO. They were the ones who were penalized the highest. Later, Ellis Crosby also came under legal surveillance and now it's Financial Credit Service.
