Debt consolidation question
Date: Mon, 06/19/2006 - 16:41
I need to do some debt consolidation, even though I'm unsure if I would even be able to make a minumum payment for that. However, it is not just credit cards. I have about $6000 outstanding medical debts and they are numerous in number. I'm simply lost in figuring all this out. I would really like to talk to someone about this all and get some idea what I can should do. My questions are too numerous to write them all out right now. I do not answer my phone if the caller ID registers it as a 1-800 number. Please help. Terry!

Terry, talk to a consultant and get an idea of your consolidation payments. He will figure out your monthly payments after reducing the interest rates and waiving off the financial charges added to the total. Consolidation program will keep your monthly payments lower so that it is affordable to you. Besides, you will be offered various payment plans to pick from. I suggest that you should bring the accounts current and pay it off through the consolidation plan. Doing this, the creditors won't take actions against you if they intend to. Check the SOL period on these debt accounts if they are within the legal collection period. If the SOL is expired, you won't be under legal obligation to pay them. Check the date of last payment activity and the laws in your state for considering the SOL factor.
