Can you in most cases on a charge-off account bought by a collector, ask for a settlement, that is 50%, 60%, or more off the amount due, and ask that it be shown paid in full or as
agreed. And Does it have to be made in one payment or can you ask for a 2 or 3 installment on the Settlement
Amount with a final date of commitment???
Thanks Antonio(Denver)

Hi Antonio

Welcome to the forum. It is possible to ask for a settlement on a charge off account bought by a collector. debt settlement program gives the option to reduce the principal debt amount, eliminate the late fees, lower the apr, and give the flexibility to repay the debt within a chosen time span. Once the payment is made in full, it will be shown as "Paid in Full"

There are certain monthly installments to be made in the debt settlement program. In this process, it is noted that the more is paid towards the debt; it takes lesser time to settle that debt. The amount of the monthly installment is fixed by the debt settlement company based on the present financial status of a consumer.
