Welcome to the forums. Nowadays, many collection agencies are trying to lie, harass and abuse the consumers for recovering the debt. The FTC received the largest number of complaints from the debt collection than any other industry. It was around 34,543.

The collection agencies are openly involved in the following deceptive, abusive and illegal collection practices, such as calling people at odd hours of the day and night. They harass the people even at work when they are not allowed to receive personal calls in the office. They threaten the people using foul language and revealing the debt of the consumer to the third parties.

Please be aware of your rights as the Federal Trade commission has given legal powers as per the fdcpa rules.

If you find such malicious practices happening to you, do not let them go unreported to the FTC and the BBB. Necessary action will be taken against such companies so that the rights of the consumers are protected.
