I RECENTLY TALKED WITH 3 REP'S @ASSET ACCEPTANCE ON BEHALF OF MY ELDERLY FATHER. I ASKED THEM IF THE COULD PROVIDE SOME TYPE OF DOCUMENTS SHOWING THAT THEY HAD MOVED HIS MOBILE HOME.(THIS BEING 5YRS AGO) THE REASON FOR THIS WAS THAT THE COUNTY THE MOBILE HOME WAS SETUP IN IS STILL CHARGING HIM PROPERTY TAXES. THE COUNTY HAS NO PERMIT ON FILE TO PROVE THAT THE MOBILE HOME HAS BEEN REMOVED. AFTER TALKING WITH 3 REP'S, THE LAST ONE SAID THAT IF MY FATHER PAID THE ACCOUNT OFF THEN THEY WOULD GIVE HIM THAT INFO AND NOT UNTIL.DUE TO THE FACT THAT MY FATHER HAS HAD A STROKE AND LIVES ALONE & SOLELY ON HIS SOCIAL SECURITY HE'S UNABLE TO REPAY THE DEBT. WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IS, WHAT WOULD BE MY NEXT STEP? PLEASE HELP.

Hi TsmithS
Welcome to the forums

You should briefly narrate your fathers financial condition to the representatives of Asset Acceptance. Request them whether they will accept a small amount every month towards debt repayment provided it can be afforded by your father.

In case the representatives do not agree then ask the municipal authority of that respective County to delete your fathers name from their lists of residents. Also try to collect an official proof of residence from the County authority where your father is presently residing.

If you still face any sort of trouble please report this to the higher authority of the respective County's. Hope you will be able to get out of this situation.

Please feel free to write back with further queries

Regards
Peter
