Have you registered and spoke with one of the counselors? If not
Have you registered and spoke with one of the counselors? If not that is the first step that you should take. They will be able to help you with your creditors. In the meantime, you can talk with your bank about either putting a stop payment on the ACH debits or opening a new account. I know when I spoke with my bank about it, they were more than willing to help me (I didnt think of doing that until after I defaulted on all my other loans.) They should not be able to debit your account if you open a new one, because you do not have an agreement with that particular account. Some of these payday loan companies will put a clause in the agreement stating that if you were to close your account and open a new account with the same bank, they can debit that account. Unless you carefully read your documents word for word you will not even catch the little clause. Thats why it would be beneficial to be upfront and honest with your bank so that they can help you.
