Reinsertion

Remember the rules of disputing with the Credit Reporting Agencies:

If you dispute then the CRA has 30 days to investigate, if it results in deletion (like the original creditor or collection agency failed to respond in allowed time) they can still later reinsert the item.

BUT - they must give you 5 day notice from the time the item is reinserted on the credit report. If they don't then you have them.

Just write back and dispute that you had not been given proper 5 business day notice and that you want the item removed for good.

They will have no choice but to comply with your request and remove the tradeline which was reinserted.

This is one of the quick ways for removing derogatory information which was not investigated correctly to begin with. So remember to keep back copies of credit reports and keep eye out for items reappearing on the later credit reports when you know they have been removed once already.
