passing the buck

I received a letter from a creditor who I complained about to the BBB(actually a copy from the BBB). It states that the credit bureau did not receive any documentation of my claim. Upon inquiry, the credit union will send us an inquiry into the months in question and then provide credit bureau with correct info. When I spoke to the credit bureau, they stated that info is incorrect and that everything is done electronically, they do not furnish anything to the creditor. Who the heck is right? It seems the creditor says, tough luck but lets just feed some bs to the BBB to satisfy them.

What kind of complaint were you making. Is this a dispute about something on your credit report, and you were not happy with the way one of the bureaus were handling it.
I always try to lodge complaints with all appropiate parties. One with the credit bureau (if this was somethign they were doing) and one with the BBB just to have it on record.
What kind of claim did you file. Was this towards a payment with the creditor....
