Welcome to the forums.
You cannot go to jail over being in debt. However, you can get a possible judgement against you because you defaulted. The payday loan companies may take it to court. I would suggest contacting each of the payday loan companies and work out some sort of payment arrangement with them. Pay off the one that has the highest interest rate first. Attempt to pay off one at least every payday. If you were approved for the loan, it was something you could afford, so it should be easy for you.
Remember, that avoiding this will only affect your credit rating, and create problems in the long run. It could also land in court where you might get your check garnished by a judge.
Best of luck.

Deanna,
You can contact the lenders and try to set up reasonable payments. Don't commit to a payment schedule you can't afford to keep. What lenders do you have? Are they online or store fronts?
