It turns out that this call wasn't for me. It was for a former coworker.

Inform them that they are contacting the wrong person and should stop themselves from further calling you.

I would like to know as they call my phone number at all hours of the day and evening. I'm on the no-call list, but they apparently don't care. What makes them think that anyone would borrow money from a place that ignores the law and ignores the privacy of its potentional customers. Can you imagine what they would do if you missed a payment?!

This company has repetedly called my place of business and has been rude and have given false identification. How do they get away with this???

Post your complaints at the local AG's office as well as in the FTC and the BBB. All collection agencies must follow the fdcpa. You must not let them intimidate you. Did you send a cease and desist letter to cover your legal base? If not, send it through certified mail with return receipt requested. This will cover your part of the actions and you will have a proof if they violate the laws.

I got the same guy calling named Jim. My husband said call him, I know I did not do anything wrong lately, traffic accident, debt collection or otherwise. He has an attitude. He said, "call me immediately or face the next step!" I have not called them, nor will I ever. I might get recorded saying something I should not have.:>

I have had them call me on almost a weekly basis for the past year thinking that I am someone else. I have told them that it is a wrong number, but they refuse to listen. I sent them a mail today saying that if they call me one more time, I will report them to the BBB.

this and any other number, it's all the same; guys, don't even bother sending letters and do not make the huge mistake of calling them back. these people are crooks, it doesn't matter that they appear as an official business in any phone list or what-not; the best way to deal with these people is to ignore them; remember they are not making a mistake by calling you and giving you some kind of proof that you owe some money, they are actually doing that on purpose to steal your money, get it? they're trying to fool you, they are not serious and subsequently, do not take any threat with any degree of concern, they cannot report you to any authority or credit bureau just because you don't owe that money, they are the criminals, not you. it's painful but unfortunately there is absolutely nothing we can do, just ignore them and pray they'll eventually stop. welcome to the club!

I'm also getting random calls from this phone number 1-866-828-3072. This guy "Jim" leaves behind the same generic voice mail too.

Franklin Collection Agency also calls from: 866-779-8954. They have "harrassed" my son since he received his cell phone nearly a year ago. They are not calling for him, but for someone else, and it is a recorded message everytime. We called both numbers back & have gotten a live person, but they hang up on us when we try talking to them. I placed all of my home & cell phones numbers on a do-not-call registry within the last year & have reported this company every time they have called.

I've been getting these calls for quite some time now."Jim" does seem to have a problem and needs to be stopped.I've ignored them up to this point & was going to call & set them straight, but after reading these postings, I think I'll change my number or disconnect to just my cell phone. Does anyone know where they're located ? ~p

We recently received many threatening and harrassing phone calls from this number. It was obviously some kind of scam--any legitimate business would never handle a call the way these people do! Knowing this was some kind of scam, we never called the number back. After many weeks, I finally did the Google search and located all these comments about this "Franklin Collection Agency". This "business" is located in Mississippi. I went to the website for BBB of MS and completed an online complaint. That has taken care of the problem. The BBB contacted the business right away and they have stopped their harrassing phone calls. That's what you need to do to stop this aggravation.

They weren't leaving messages for a while but it's been a few months now and they started leaving messages two calls ago. Turns out it was automated so I picked up and they're calling for my girlfriend. They gave me the 866 number as a callback. Sounds like I should warn her not to call them back.

Franklin Collection Service is a legitimate collection agency and is a member of the Mississippi BBB and is one of the largest collection agencies in the nation.

If you receive calls stating that you need to return the call to "discuss an important personal matter" and they are calling for the wrong person or number, then call their customer service deptartment at 1-888-294-0328 and tell them to take your number out of the system.

They cannot give any information in the recording because it would be a violation of the fdcpa. You can send a cease to communicate letter and by law they will have to stop. All calls are also recorded at this agency.

Even if you have all your phone numbers on a Do-Not-Call-List, collection agencies are except from those and can still contact any number you have whether it be home, cell, or work.

An un-named Caller left a message on my phone answering machine for me to call 866-828-3072 by 7pm without identifying himself. Very rude. :evil:

I had to go through reverse directory to find out it was FCS, collecting for a medical bill that my medical insurance failed to pay. :twisted:

The company is very unprofessional and have no right to make a demand without first identifying themselves.

Those messages are in violation of the fdcpa and are actionable for $1000 per lawsuit.If this agency thinks I don't know what I am speaking of,have your legal counsel read Foti vs Nco.

this # belongs to AT&T collections regarding any outstanding bills w/Bellsouth and/or AT&T. AT&T is now the new name for Bellsouth.

I have to disagree with those who say this is a legitmate collection agency. They do not allow me to speak with anyone. They won't even tell me details about what the charge is for. I am re-routed to an automated system that asks me for my social security number and TWO credit card account numbers. The automated system said it was for a charge for a Florida telephone bill. The next time I was re-routed, it told me it was for a Pennsylvania telephone bill. It won't tell me how much the supposed bill is for. I don't live in either state and my credit reports show NO outstanding bills for this supposed collection. AT&T was unable to confirm that any balance was due by me to their company.

This has SCAM written all over it. No "bill collector" should ever request all of this personal information via an automated system while being unable to provide you any information about the charge. Be cautious!

Yah,I agree with the last post. These morons are idiots. THey call my cell phone without identifying themselves.It was some automated message. When called back, there was no answer, just a bunch of clicks ( reouting the call ), so I hung up. I am going to repot them as a scam.

Pure scam artists! No legit business would operate in this manner. We have gotten at least 4 calls per week from these clowns for over a year. They won't stop. I plan to hire a lawyer to get some satisfaction. They can't be too successful at what they do, if all they do is harass folks with computerized phone calls. Is this not the ultimate catch 22? The collection agency cannot tell you what they are trying to collect because of federal privacy law, and who in their right mind is going to give a collector their credit card number without even knowing what is going to be charged or for what? Ron White is right. You can't fix stupid.

352-728-5033 belongs to DT Credit Corp (Drive Time) - they finance cars for people with less than perfect credit. Are they perhaps the finance company for your vehicle?

They Collect for AT&T if you are getting these calls you more than likely owe an amount to AT&T.
