Fmcath, you will have to make payments to your creditors even if they have a valid judgment against you or even if they don't. You need to make sure whether the said judgment is valid or not. Did you get a notice before the judgment was issued to you? Generally, you need to appear in the court and appeal in front of the judge. The court proceedings take place legally and the result of it is either your wages are garnished or your property is repossessed. The most common form is your wages being garnished and the money will be taken out from your paycheck each month. This will continue till the debt is paid in full.

If the judgment has not been issued legally, you have the chance to dispute it.

Check your local registrar office or the latest credit report and see if you have a valid judgment against you.

I will also approach your local creditors and see if I can arrange for a payment plan. Usually, most of the creditors work on the payment plan if they have not taken the legal steps.

I have a judgement aganist me, but the judgement has pased the statute of limination( 5 years) in the state of Kansas which is four years. Also the statute of linitation for the debt had run out (3 years) before the judgement. Can my bank account be garnished?

To a certain extent, the answer is yes. If a judgment is placed against you, either your wages will be garnished, or your property will be repossessed. The most common form is wages being garnished and this will continue till you have paid the complete amount.

You need to know if the judgment placed on you is meeting all the legal requirements. Most of the lenders and CA's often use fake means while putting a judgment.

If there is any legal judgment placed on you, you will get this information from your credit report or your local registrar office.

the amount owns on the card. Beside my social security check I work two days a week to
make extra to cover some bill. My wife I and plan to show up to court before the judge.
We afraid that the judge doesn't give the creditor right to take our funitures & other
item from our home. What can we do in this situation if the judge orders them to get our
stuffs from home? Whatever advice you can give will be appreciated.
