Settlement programs require the accounts to go into delinquency and collection so that it can be negotiated with the creditors at the best deal.

But a consolidation program can be used even when you are current with your accounts. It does not require you to be delinquent in any of the accounts. At least, I know this company does not force it as I am using their consolidation program.

Take a free counseling and discuss with the consultant. In your situation when you are current with the accounts, you are likely to be offered low interest rates.

well i cant wait for things to go delinquit i need help now my own bank has a debt program but i applied for a personal loan then a line of credit dont know the out come of debt consolidation but i will find out tomorrow. I will keep you all posted on the out come.

You don't have to forcibly become delinquent in any of your bills while taking the consolidation program.

You will still be making regular payments to your creditors but through the consolidation company. This will benefit you in lowering the interest rates and lower monthly pay offs for each creditor.

The consultant will offer you counseling and explain the whole process in the discussion.
