Wage Garnishment
Date: Tue, 12/13/2005 - 08:25
I attended college and somehow the financial aid was less than estimated. Anyway to make a long story short, I owed the school around $1200 which was turned over to a collection agency. I believe the name of the agency is Regional Collections. They said unless I can make a payment of $132 per month, they will seek to garnish my wages. They have only called me three times all at work. The first two times, I did not discuss anything with them and advise them to not call my workplace. I talked to them just a bit today and basically said I can afford that payment.
How quickly can they ganish my wages and how likely is this?
What is the lowest monthly payment that I can offered them? I dont mind paying the debt, but I am not in a sitution to be able to afford much of a monthly payment at all. $50 would be strech.
Thanks for the info in advance.

don't know if they can garnish you wages, but i believe they can
don't know if they can garnish you wages, but i believe they can garnish your fed tax return. also, if you notified them not to call your workplace, they are to cease all calls there. they should not have called back. however, you sould give them a good # for them to reach you at.
