Welcome to the forums! Unfortunately, the number that is calling, is hooked up to a computer. So no luck in getting anyone to answer. But after doing some digging I have found that it belongs to a Van Ru Credit Corporation.

From the looks of Van Ru is in good stand with the BBB, and is actually a member. However, being in good standing only means you have responded to the complaints and dealt with them. They have had 94 complaints alone this year.

So they are debt collectors?

They are either a collection agency or crooks phishing.

When it calls you are put on hold in a que and have to wait your turn (duh).

They won't tell you who they are, they just say we are calling about your ____ credit account. They are extremely rude and secretive. They called on my phone for my daughter (I thought) and acted like the knew her, they didn't say I am so-and-so with such-and-such company. Then they tried to intimidate her and then I gave them an earful, and then they tried to intimidate me. They said she owed $2000 on a credit card that she doesn't even have (I know, we checked her credit). After I got aggresive with them and told they were either collectors of crooks, becuase they wouldn't tell me, they said, OK if you'll pay this debt today we'll reduce it to 50%.

Turns out they were looking for someone with my daughters first name and my number apparently, but after I extracted who they were looking for, it wasn't her. Different last name, different city. When I pointed this out to them, they hung up on me. Nevertheless, they continue to call every day. Very unprofessional and discourteous group of people.

Send them a cease and desist letter to let them know they cannot contact you.

I have gotten calls from this number about 4-5 times a day, at home and on my cell. I spoke to someone and they did not know who they wanted. they tried to get me to give them info about myself and those that live in my home. I am going to report to the BBB

I have been getting calls from them to. I am not the person they are looking for. They have been rude. I called the 800 number and spoke with an operator. After being transferred 3 or 4 time I spoke with a person, and asked them to remove my number from their system. The person mentioned that my number was marked as "bad" but they would work on removing it. We shall see.

I have been getting many annoying calls from this 847-410-8080, ILLINOIS number, for a few weeks, Iam placed on hold no one ever comes o the line.

This collection agency is brutal. They have been calling my house for weeks, several times a day. I'm not even who they are looking for. We have requested they remove our number but the calls continue. Everyone passes the buck. The staff is rude, and they don't sound like they have any form of education whatsoever. If you call them you will get transferred so many times it will make your head spin. This is actually a form of harassment and can be prosecuted if you have the time and money to go after these jerk off's. I'm considering changing my phone number that I have had for the past 10 years because of these people. It is such a shame that we have to be continually harassed over someone else's debt. I am proud to say that we are debt free, and work hard to stay that way.

I have reported this company to the BBB. I also found an address for them and will send a cease and desist letter. I am not even the person they are trying to reach, but they just keep calling, and are incredibly rude and evasive when I have tried to call them and explain they have a wrong number. I hope the BBB sticks it to 'em.

This company has thousands of complaints. Be presistent with them. I was able to make them back off. If you want to play hardball with them, file a police report against them.
