I payed a judgement off that was on my credit report. I have written Equifax, Experian, and Trans Union to have this removed it's stopping from obtaining another place to rent. What do I do about this problem please respond. I'm homeless beacuse of this.

Judgment is negative information and will be reported in your credit file till it is past the 7 year reporting time as per the FCRA.

If the statute of limitation is more than the 7 years reporting time, then it will be shown for that period till it is past the statute timeframe.

You can't remove the negative information on your own. Only the federal authorities have the rights to do so when it is shown inaccurately.

Guest,

Since you have paid off the judgment, it should appear as ???paid' or ???satisfied' or ???released' with no balance in your credit file. You can contact with judgment creditor and ask them to report it properly.

However, you cannot remove the entry unless the statute of limitation for judgments is expired in your state.
