I have been paying them for about a year, now i own about $800 is it better to pay it all off,or settle they sent me a settlement letter.

Settlement offers have a negative impact in the credit report because the accounts will be shown as 'settled' in your CR. This will lower your credit scores and reduces your chances of getting new credit.

Although, the amount of total debt is reduced largely making it easier to be paid, but its negative consequences affect your credit potential.

It will be better to get in writing from Midland that they will be updating your file as 'Paid as agreed'. This will be much better in comparison to the earlier one.

Have you tried consolidating the debt? Consolidation will also reduce the total amount by wiping off the financial charges and other late fees added in it. Take a free counseling from the experts who will negotiate with the company for your better credit ratings.
