I'm nosy, I'll admit it.

Just wondering what kind of work people around here do.

I am in retail. Currently a store manager for a mattress company. I work very long hours with the general public, and the world is lucky that I have an even temper and a good attitude. (Most of the time..By the time I get off work sometimes I'm totally out of patience and will take it out on whoever bothers me first. :) But at least I wait to get home. :-P)

What's the stupidest stuff you have to put up with? Any of you who may have bought bedding recently knows it's not cheap. I can't help it, I just sell the stuff. :) It drives me crazy to hear comments like, "What idiot would pay that much for a MATTRESS??" Are you calling my customers idiots? Obviously they LIKE the bed and have the extra money laying around. Geez...

I work in IT as a software engineer. I enjoy the problem solving aspect and learning new technologies but it can be stressfull with deadlines, presentations and whatnot.

I have literally p!ssed away a small fortune the past few years with gambling and recently these payday loans. Actually the payday loans are a small drop in the bucket in comparison.

But I am starting to learn that its not what you have done but what you are doing and will do thats important. I am looking forward to starting my credit cleanup plan next month after I recover from paying off the loan sharks this month.

Not really what it used to be in the Golden days of the 90's before the .COM bust/Y2K and offshoring but it still is better than many occupations I suppose.

Right now Offshoring is a very big problem that has hit IT very hard. Experienced programmers are still able to find jobs but its almost impossible for someone starting out. Needless to say IT graduates have gone down quit a bit.
