My credit score stinks. We had some hard financial problems that last 8 or 9 years. I checked my credit score and it is in the poor section. I declared bankruptcy in 1997 and still did not learn. Well the last year I have learned what I did and now I am paying for it. Since the middle of last year I found a 2nd job and payed off all the payday loans I got into and now I am paying off the credit cards I had. All credit cards were sent to agencies because I had not paid on any. Now they are offering me settlements and I am paying them off one by one. I think I might have a total of 3 left that has not been paid. I have applied for 2 or 3 credit card the last couple of months and got denied. I hate to get one but I thought if I got one with a little credit on it and both what I knew I could pay off each month that it would help out my credit score. I would like to do anything that could help because we will need to buy a used vehicle in a couple of months for my husband to go back and forth to work and I will need to get it financed. Does anyone have any information on where I might be able to get a auto loan that might help me improve my credit score? I was looking at a vehicle about $7000.00. My husband works about an hour away from work and we have this old truck that is burning lots of gas and looking to buy something decent that he can get to work in. Thanks in Advance!!!!!!!

net302001, your credit file will give the best view to your future lenders after all the accounts are paid off and you owe nothing to anyone. On this basis, you will earn maximum scores because the payment history is a crucial factor in analyzing the credit scores.

Have you reviewed your credit report recently? In most cases, the file also has a large number of data errors done by the bureaus. Incorrect entries reduce the scores largely. Run a credit check and locate the visible mistakes for correction. This will improve your credit scores.

Once your scores have improved fairly, any lender will be willing to extend the best credit packages to you. They will realize that you have been responsible enough in paying your past accounts and will take the same responsibility towards this account also.
If you need some professional help, you can opt for a consolidation program. This program will ensure regular payments to your creditors. You will be offered low monthly payments at lower rate of interest. After all the accounts are paid in full, the creditors will update your accounts with the bureaus marking them as paid.

Do let me know how many errors you found in your credit report. An incorrect account in collections can sometimes reduce the credit scores by 30 points. Check your file thoroughly and figure out the areas of correction. I will tell you further on how to dispute with the credit bureaus.
