What type of calls are you getting? Are these calls placed by a collector? Under the fdcpa laws, you have the rights to stop them from calling you. You need to send a cease and desist letter and restrict them from calling further. If required, they can correspond with you through mail only.
Once the federal rule has been applied, the collector can't you further except to notify you that all the collection attempts have stopped or the creditors are willing to take legal actions.
Remember, this action does not erase the debt if you owe to your creditors. Unless you are judgment proof or planning to file bankruptcy, it is better to talk to them regarding your account and resolve the matter. Use your consumer rights in dealing with them. Take help of your lawyer in engaging the collector.

Diana, send your request in writing to the company's mailing address. No one should call you so often after you have explained the situation. The collector is breaking the laws and you can complain his actions to the local AG's office.
You can also your legal rights by sending a cease and desist letter. After the company has received your 'cease and desist communication except mail correspondence', they don't get the legal rights to call you again. They will have to contact you in writing only.
