Call back next week?

Hello All!! OK, I just called hsbc to see what i can do aboutmy charged off (May 05) acct. They said it is the process of being sent to CA call back next tuesday. ???? This acct was with Academy. Inever have talked to anyone about this acct. Can it get worse than Academy? Iwas afraid to call them..per their own forum here. Call back next week?? TOO FUNNY!! btw has anyone heard of Stillman Law Office? googled # 514-958-0000 this is what i found. Thanks for your time. Rach Oh! I'll let ya know what happens when I call back next week.

Rach, ask HSBC if they have hired the collection agency for this account or they have sold it out? If it is still with them, you can make payment arrangements and won't have to work with the CA. In most cases, such arrangements can be made.
When you will be contacted by the collectors, they will send you something in writing about this account. Review the details properly before you make any payment agreement with them. This debt might be within the statutes in your state. Once it's paid off, your credit file will be updated by the bureau and this account will be shown as 'paid'. This status will be good for your credit.
