How can I get answers out of people that you can't get to talk to a human, just blank messages.

I've been trying via phone and emails to get someone to talk to me about this account. It actually belongs to my oldest son but they have my info somehow. He has given me the credit card from ESPIRE and have tried the customer service nbr on the back and their webb site on line but cannot get any human to talk to and no responses on my three emails to their webb site.. My son applied for this card via the internet, and at that time had problems trying to put " II " after his name. kept telling him it was an error. So he let it go without the II after his name. All the other info on the application is his own personal info. The one that shows up on my credit report is CB&T, and understand it is now in the hands of midland credit management. Numerous phone calls to them has not gotten me anywhere. Now they tell me it is sold to someother outfit but wouldn't tell me who, call back in two or three weeks they told me. Told my son of the problems I'm having and he told me it was his and the card was ESPIRE. Have been working on this for many months and getting no where fast. HELP....

Have you tried 800-282-2644 to speak to someone in midland credit management? I think you will get someone live at this number.

Call the original company and try to get some information about the account. If the debt has not been sold to the third party, you can make payments to them also.

Now the question is how to deal with those annoying phone calls. In my opinion, file a police complaint and include the number. The police will come to know about this number although their is no surety that the owner is making the call.

If they have your information that probably means theyve dug through all your personal information. They probably have your address, ssn, where you work ect, and will probably falsify records. Id call the credit bureau to see if theyve been snooping around for info to stry to screw you. Remember, just because you have never had an account with the company theyre trying to scam you for, doesnt mean they wont destroy your credit if they cant get money from you. Thats how they make money....

1. How old was your son at the time he applied, and how old is he now? If less than the age of majority in your state, he can probably legally avoid (i.e. cancel) the entire contract, including the obligation to repay the debt. HOWEVER, if he certified his age incorrectly, he could be prosecuted for fraud.

2. Is the "II" part of his full, correct, and true legal name, i.e., as it appears on his birth certificate? If not, then they've just gone after the wrong guy - their mistake, not your problem. Write a letter to the credit bureaus and tell them for their files that you have never had any relationship with the creditor, that you never incurred any debt with that creditor, and that they have made a mistake in pursuing you, since you have no liability whatsoever to them. Don't go into long winded explanations about why they're wrong. All you need to say is that they're wrong about you, you do not have to set them straight about who really is responsible for the debt. Not your problem. If they ever sue you, you can honestly testify that you did not incur the debt.

3. Send the collection agency a demand for verification letter. You've got thirty days from the first date of receipt of a notice of your rights that they have to send you (like on a demand letter).

If it is a blank message chances are it is computer generated and also on a dialer. The dialer is set to rin a certain amount of times befroe it hangs up, if your answering machine picks up as it is hanging up you would get a blank message.

I get a lot of accounts that belong to the son or the father but have the same name, no jr or sr on the account.. Somehow the credit gets tied to one another and often to the wrong person.

I would highly encourace your son to also look into this and to also take care of his debt. I't going to be a long process to get this mark removed because there is a valid payment history but it is a process that is worth it to anyone who values their credit.
